Bhadrak, Mar 3: An unusual loud sound, the source of which was not known, reportedly frightened people in Odisha's Bhadrak, Anandpur, Jajpur and other nearby areas today.

The sound was heard in a very high decibel in Ghasipura area in Mayurbhanj district. People ran out of their houses for safety as they heard the sound.

According to locals, the sound, heard at 2.48 PM, was like a bomb explosion. "We heard a very high sound. We took it that a bomb was exploded somewhere nearby," said a local man of Ghasipura.

The source of the sound is yet to be ascertained. People are still in a state of fear at many places.
