Stone Pelting on Jan Shatabdi Express: One Arrested in Bhadrak

Bhadrak, Jun 28: In a disturbing incident that raised concerns over railway passenger safety, a man was arrested by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Bhadrak for allegedly pelting stones at the Howrah-bound 12074 Jan Shatabdi Express.  


The incident occurred around 8:15 am on Friday between Randia Boudpur and Bhadrak stations in Odisha.  


According to East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources, a complaint was received via the Rail Madad portal by the Divisional Security Control at Khurda Road. The report stated that a windowpane in Coach D/13 had been shattered due to stone pelting. Fortunately, no passengers were injured.

Acting swiftly, the Inspector-in-Charge of RPF Bhadrak led a trackside search operation in the affected section. A suspect was detained and later arrested in connection with the incident. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Railway Act, and the accused will be produced before the SDJM Court in Bhadrak for further legal proceedings.  


The RPF reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of railway passengers. Authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious activities through the Rail Madad portal or the Railway Helpline Number 139.
