Puri, Dec 31: Given a heavy rush marked in Shreekhetra on the year-end, special arrangements have been made for the devotees in the Shree Jagannath Temple today and tomorrow.

Barricades have been erected to control the crowd. Devotees are entering the temple through three gates. Arrangements have been made for devotees' exit in phases through blocking teams at various places. Senior police officials have been deployed at the temple to control the crowd.

"The temple will be under security cover today and tomorrow. Drinking water supply has been arranged at more than 30 places. The municipality will supply water to more than 30 places. A police team will be on standby," said an SJTA official.

The official said the focus has been given on Zero Night Celebrations and the safety of tourists. A no-vehicle zone has been made from the Medical Square, while arrangements have been made for evacuation at various points.

Ambulances and life-saving equipment are also available, said the official.
