Bhubaneswar, Jul 11: The Odisha government is gearing up to launch a smartphone-based attendance app for its officials and employees across all departments starting August 1, 2025.
This initiative aims to modernise attendance tracking and enhance workplace discipline.
The Directorate of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities has issued a directive to all district-level social security officers, informing them of the upcoming rollout.
The app will be used to record the presence of departmental officers and staff, either through their own mobile phones or via devices operated by senior officials.
To ensure smooth implementation, the department has requested feedback from employees regarding the app’s functionality and feasibility.
This initiative aligns with the state’s broader push toward digital governance, complementing existing biometric systems and AI-based attendance monitoring already piloted in select government buildings.
