Puri, Jun 8: A new regulatory framework is set to be introduced for the construction of structures around Shree Gundicha Temple and Jagannath Temple in Puri.
The proposal includes specific height restrictions for buildings and mandates that their facades reflect the architectural style of Kalinga heritage.
Additionally, strict regulations will be imposed on nameplates and advertisements on these structures to preserve the spiritual atmosphere of the area. Measures for beautification and optimal use of vacant spaces are also under consideration to enhance the aesthetic appeal.
To establish an independent policy for this initiative, the Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple has written to the State Urban Development Department.
The matter was discussed at a high-level administrative committee meeting of the temple management, and a resolution was passed to request the state government’s intervention in drafting a formal policy.
