According to the reports, the forest department has decided to close the Similipal National Park today as the forest roads became muddy at various places due to heavy rains and there is a risk of slippage due to rain.
The region has been experiencing heavy rainfall for the past few days owing to a high-pressure system formed in Chhattisgarh. Ramatirtha received the maximum rainfall (34.545 mm) followed by Barehipani (25.146 mm), Nawana (17.3 mm), Chahala (17.4 mm), Thakurmunda (3.81 mm), Kendumundi (20.32 mm), and Satkasia (19.09 mm).
