Bhubaneswar, Feb 8: Odisha Law Minister Jagannath Sarakar today told the State Assembly that Ratna Bhandar of Shrimandir can be opened and repair works can be undertaken following scanning and inspection of walls during this year's Rath Yatra.
The Minister stated this in response to a question asked by a member of the House.
Both the outer and inner Ratna Bhandars (treasure houses) are located adjacent to the Jagamohan of the Shrimandir. Thus, rituals of the Trinity and Darshan of devotees will be disrupted if an ASI team undertakes repair work now.
Shreemandir Management Committed discussed this regard in its meeting on August 4, 2023. The committee decided that a laser scanning of the out Ratna Bhandar will be conducted and then the Inner Ratna Bhandar will be inspected.
