Digha Jagannath Temple Row: Complaint Filed Against Daitapati Nijog Secretary

Puri, May 4: A formal complaint has been lodged at Shreemandir’s Singhadwara police station against Ramakrushna Dasmohapatra, Secretary of the Daitapati Nijog at Puri’s Shree Jagannath Temple.
The complaint was filed by RTI activist Jayant Kumar Dash from Satya Nagar area of Puri.
Dasmohapatra is accused of allegedly selling Navakalebara sacred wood used for idol construction to the West Bengal government, without permission from the temple administration. The online complaint references multiple legal provisions under which the case has been registered.
An official discussion between the Shreemandir administration and Dasmohapatra was scheduled for today at 11 AM. The president of the appointment committee was also expected to participate in the meeting.
Dasmohapatra previously made remarks regarding the idol construction process during the Navakalebara ritual, which later sparked controversy. However, he later denied his earlier statements during a press conference.
