Rourkela, May 16: A shopkeeper in Tamda village under Gurundia block sustained gun shot injury after two unidentified assailants opened fire on him on Friday evening.

According to reports, the attackers reportedly demanded money, and upon refusal, they opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Eyewitnesses stated that the accused fired three rounds, with one bullet striking the shopkeeper below the chest. Fortunately, he survived the attack and was rushed to Rourkela Government Hospital for treatment.

Police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the suspects. Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage and questioning locals for leads.
