Baisinga, Jul 16: In a deeply disturbing incident in Dhanapal village under Managobindpur Panchayat, Baisinga police limits, an elderly couple was allegedly murdered by their son.

According to reports, the accused, Himansu Sahu, reportedly attacked his father Hadibandhu Sahu (80) and mother Shanti Sahu (72) with a sharp weapon.

Authorities say the accused struck both victims on their heads, leading to their death on the spot.

Himansu, who had been living away from the family home, would occasionally visit and was known to cause disturbances during his stays.

Preliminary reports suggest that the accused was arrested in an inebriated state.

Baisinga Police have registered a case and initiated a formal investigation. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and forensic teams are assisting with the inquiry.
