Puri, Aug 26: In what is termed as a shameful act, a girl was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by some youths in the Arakhakuda area of Puri district ate Saturday night. 

According to a complaint lodged at the Arakhakuda police station, four youths kidnapped the girl from Keutakudi Chowk at around 8 pm on August 24 and took her in a car into a nearby jungle where they committed the ghastly crime. They reportedly raped her taking turns in the night.    

The victim managed to escape from their custody the next day early in the morning i.e. in the morning of August 25 . She then complained to the police about the traumatic incident she went through. 

In a quick response to her complaint, the police registered a case and took her to the Rabana-Nuagaon hospital for medical examination.   

Further details are awaited as investigations are underway.
