Sundargarh, Aug 30: The Additional District Education Officer (ADEO) of Sundargarh on Saturday placed a Sanskrit teacher of a government school under suspension over allegations of sexual misconduct.

According to reports, the matter came to fore after seven girl students of PS Government High School under Gurundia block brought allegations against the accused teacher, identified as Aditya Patra, over the sexual misconduct inside the school premises.

Following this, the headmistress of the school submitted a written report to Gurundia police.

Taking note, Sundargarh ADEO Sarangdhar Bariha initiated disciplinary proceedings and issued a suspension order.

The accused teacher has been instructed not to leave his station without prior approval of the Block Education Officer.

Furthermore, a case has been registered and a probe is underway.
