Bhubaneswar, May 3: Several districts across Odisha might witness rainfall activities, informed the India Meteorological Department's regional centre on Saturday.

According to the IMD's latest bulletin, the influence of Kalbaishakhi storms and trough-line effects will prevent excessive heat conditions across the state. Some districts may experience thunderstorms accompanied by hailstorms. It will continue till May 7, said the weather agency.

Besides, the weather agency has also issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, with speeds estimated between 40 to 50 km/h.

Following the shift in weather, residents of the state can expect some respite from the intense heat.
