Banki, Apr 28: Banki police on Monday arrested seven persons for their alleged involvement with the violence in West Bengal's Murshidabad district.
The detainees, hailing from Sunadei Mundia area in Odisha's Banki, are reportedly being interrogated by police in connection with the case.
Earlier on April 22, around 12 people were detained from Jharsuguda district in connection with the case. Among those apprehended were two sons of Ziaul Sheikh, one of the prime suspects in the murder of a man and his son in Murshidabad's Jafrabad.
The West Bengal Police have been actively investigating the matter, forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the incidents. So far, over 300 individuals have been arrested in connection with the riots. The state government has also announced measures to rehabilitate affected families and reconstruct damaged homes under the Banglar Bari housing scheme.

✨It is worth mentioning that around three people were killed, several people were injured, and scores of shops and houses were vandalised as violence rocked parts of Murshidabad during protests over the Waqf (Amendment) Act.
