Cuttack, Feb 21: An alleged assault inside the premises of Cuttack Railway Station on Saturday triggered concern among railway employees after a senior loco pilot accused his former father-in-law and brother-in-law of physically attacking him in a public area.
The accused father-in-law was identified as Baikuntha Mohanty, a constable posted at Chauliaganj police station in Cuttack. The incident, reportedly stemming from a family dispute, took place in the busy station premises and has since become a topic of discussion among railway staff.
Marriage Ended in Divorce After Dispute
According to a source, senior loco pilot Rajanikanta Mahalik had married Debasree, daughter of constable Baikuntha Mohanty, in 2020. However, differences allegedly surfaced within three months of the marriage.
The dispute escalated and eventually reached court. The couple has since legally divorced. Sources said that issues relating to maintenance payments as per court directions had remained contentious.

Rajanikanta alleged that while he was returning home after completing his duty on Saturday, his former father-in-law and brother-in-law confronted him at the railway station premises.
He claimed that both assaulted him following an exchange of words linked to past disputes. The alleged attack took place in full public view inside the station area.
