Bolangir, May 16: Security forces have recovered a huge cache of firearms and explosives from two Maoist hideouts in Bolangir's Turekela block.

Acting on reliable inputs about the presence of red rebels, security forces launched a search operation in the forests of Khaprakhol's Gandhamardan hills and Chhatardandi area of Turekela block of Bolangir district. During the search operation, the security forces unearthed detonators, explosives-making equipment, arrows, and other logistical supplies used by the insurgents.

Authorities believe that the Maoists fled the site ahead of the operation, avoiding direct confrontation with security forces

Officials have stated that the seized explosives indicate plans for a major attack, reinforcing the need for continued vigilance in the region.
