Kendrapara, Apr 9: In a tragic incident, a woman died and another woman sustained critical injuries as their scooty rammed into a truck near Gurukul Vidyalaya at Arasa Chhak on the Cuttack-Chandbali road this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Jhunu Majhi of Rajkanika Buruduia village. The injured, Pushpalata Behera, has been admitted to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Rajkanika.
According to the information Jhunu Majhi, daughter of Bishnu Charan Majhi, was driving the scooty, while Puspalata, a co-villager and friend of hers, was sitting on the pillion when the mishap occurred. The scooty rammed into the rear of the truck. Jhunu reportedly died on the spot. She was declared dead by doctors at the CHC.
