Bhubaneswar, May 8: Despite government directives to close schools due to extreme heat conditions, several institutions have remained operational. The issue has come to the notice of the Education Department, prompting strict action against non-compliant schools.

Following this, the School & Mass Education Department asked all the District Education Officers (DEOs) to strictly comply with SOPs.

The Education department has issued an official letter instructing the District Education Officers to monitor and take appropriate measures against schools that have disregarded closure orders.

The directive emphasises the importance of student safety during the ongoing heatwave, urging strict adherence to government decisions.

Authorities continue to assess the situation, ensuring that necessary enforcement is carried out to protect students and staff.
