Bhubaneswar, Jan 3: Seniour BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition in State Assembly Jayanarayan Mishra on Wednesday hailed the Orissa High Court's show-cause notice to the Odisha government vis-a-vis the investigation of the sensational murder of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati and demanded that the reports of two judicial commissions, which probed the killing, be made public without delay.
In the wake of the High Court asking the State government to show cause why a CBI inquiry will not be conducted into Swami's murder, the LoP addressed a Press conference where he demanded a CBI inquiry into the killing of Saraswati and the publication of the report of the Justice AS Naidu Commission of Inquiry that probed the sensational murder, without further delay.
Mishra criticized the State government for not 'providing' security to Saraswati even after a murder attempt was made against him on December 25, 2007, eight months before he and four of his followers were gunned down by miscreants at his Jalespata Ashram in Kandhamal district on the Janmashtami day on August 23, 2008.
"A murder attempt was made against Swami on December 25, 2007. Following this, he underwent treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital for many days. The State Government announced to provide security to him. But later, Swamiji and four of his associates were gunned down at his Jalespeta Ashram. Before they were killed, CRPF and Odisha police personnel were on leave," said the LoP.

✨Almost 15 years have passed, but the State government is yet to make the interim report submitted by Justice (retd) Sarat Mohapatra and the final report by Justice (retd) AS Naidu public, the LoP told media persons.
He alleged a big conspiracy against the State government's 'motive' behind not making public the reports of the two commissions.
He demanded that the probe reports be made public through the State Assembly or Press conference without delay.
Notably, a single-bench commission of the Orissa High Court yesterday issued a notice to the Odisha government asking to reply as to why a CBI inquiry would not be conducted into the sensational murder before the next day of hearing on March 5.
