Sambalpur, May 25: Sambalpur is set for a major transformation with several development initiatives aimed at modernizing the city and enhancing infrastructure. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the Durgapali Railway Overbridge, constructed at a cost of ₹60.43 crore, marking a significant step toward improving traffic management and connectivity in the region.

During the inauguration, Pradhan emphasized that the joint efforts of the central and state governments will ensure Sambalpur evolves into a modern and well-equipped city. The overbridge is expected to reduce congestion and enhance commuter safety, benefiting thousands of residents.

In addition to infrastructure improvements, the administration has launched Mission Green Sambalpur, targeting the plantation of over one lakh trees within three months to promote environmental sustainability. The initiative, led by the district administration and forest department, aims to make Sambalpur a greener and healthier city.

Further, plans are underway to revamp Sambalpur Zoo, with the goal of transforming it into Odisha’s second Nandankanan, a renowned zoological park. This development is expected to boost tourism and provide better facilities for wildlife conservation.

With these ambitious projects, Sambalpur is on the path to becoming a modern, sustainable, and well-connected city, ensuring improved living conditions for its residents.
