Sambalpur, Nov 3, 2025: In a major push to promote grassroots sports and youth engagement, the Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025 will be held across the Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituency from November 7 to 25.
The event will kick off at Indira Gandhi Stadium in Tileibani, Deogarh district, and aims to identify hidden sporting talent from villages and urban areas of Sambalpur.
The festival, themed “Healthy Youth for a Developed India,” is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Fit India and Khelo India campaigns. Under the leadership of Union Education Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan, the initiative reflects the emphasis on sports and physical education in the National Education Policy.
The opening ceremony for Dhenkanal constituency will be held on
November 11 at Dhenkanal Stadium. Over 19 days, competitions will be organized
across blocks in Sambalpur, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, and Angul districts.
This competition will be held in two categories: the junior category for
participants aged 14 to 17 years, and the senior category for those aged 18 to
23 years.

✨For the 14 to 17 age group, events will include 100-meter and 200-meter sprints, discus throw, shot put, and kho-kho. Similarly, athletes aged 18 to 23 will compete in 100-meter and 200-meter sprints, discus throw, shot put, and kabaddi.
The primary objective of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav is to identify
hidden sporting talent from rural and urban areas and provide them with a
strong platform to compete at the district, state, and national levels.
