Bhubaneswar, Dec 23: The revelations in the book Naveen Patnaik Authoritative Biography Revised After 2024 Elections, written by senior journalist Ruben Banerjee, have attracted reactions and counter-reactions from the BJD and the BJP, respectively.

In the book, Banerjee revealed that Naveen Patnaik-led BJD lost the 2024 elections as party leaders and workers didn't accept VK Pandian, who led the party's campaigning in the election. In earlier 2019 elections, Pandian was in charge of election management but in the 2024 elections, he became the sole star campaigner, even though 40 leaders were declared star campaigners of the party.

Reacting to Banerjee's revelations, BJD MLA Arun Sahu said the senior journalist had fabricated discussions held at different places and written views of the then-opposition parties.

"Ruben Banerjee has not met and talked to Naveen Patnaik for many years. He has written discussions held at different places and views on the then opposition parties," Sahu said in his reaction.

The BJP, however, poohpoohed Sahu's contention and said the BJD should accept the reality.

"BJD leaders don't digest the reality revealed by Ruben Banerjee. They (BJD leaders) earlier liked Banerjee's writings about Naveen Patnaik as they were in favour. What Ruben Banerjee wrote then was true, what he has written now is also true. Therefore, the BJD leaders should learn to accept it, "said BJP MLA Babu Singh.
