Baripada, June 24: In a shocking daylight robbery, armed miscreants looted around Rs 8 lakh at gunpoint from an Odisha Gramya Bank in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday.


According to the sources, six miscreants entered the Odisha Gramya Bank branch, located at Kuchei under Kuliana police station limits in the district, at around 2 PM and looted around Rs 8 lakh by wielding firearms and sharp weapons, threatening the staff and customers.

The robbers not only took away the cash but also seized the bank’s hard disk, possibly to erase CCTV footage. After locking the bank from the outside, they fled the scene, sources said.


After getting information, local police, along with the SDPO, promptly arrived at the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
