Rourkela, Apr 21: In a dramatic turn of events, the body of Etua Ekka, who tragically died during a clash between displaced families and police, was recovered 38 hours after the incident.

The clash occurred in Rourkela's Bondamunda area, where construction work for the Rourkela Steel Plant's railway line was underway. The incident has sparked widespread protests, with demands for land restoration and employment continuing unabated.

The tragedy unfolded when a villager was crushed under a JCB during the confrontation. Following the incident, tensions escalated, leading to the deployment of extensive police forces in the area.

Amid the unrest, the administration announced compensation of ₹20 lakh, a job for the deceased's wife at the Rourkela Steel Plant, and educational expenses for the children. These promises led to the recovery of the body, but the protests persist.

Villagers have vowed to continue their agitation indefinitely, demanding the return of their land and employment opportunities. The situation remains tense, with locals staging sit-ins and halting work in the area.
