Baripada, Feb 11: Two men were killed in a road accident after an SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) collided with a goods auto (a cargo three-wheeler), Tuesday.

The accident took place in front of a Hyundai showroom on NH-18 near Baripada town.

As per the report, both the SUV, identified as a Scorpio, and the goods auto were coming from Baripada and heading towards Betnoti.

Tragedy struck when the cargo three-wheeler was crossing the road when it was hit by the Scorpio coming from behind.

Two persons in the goods auto died on the spot, while two inside the Scorpio sustained critical injuries. The injured were rushed to Pandit Raghunath Murmu (PRM) Medical College & Hospital in Baripada.

One of the deceased has been identified as Goura Mohan Thayal from Dhatika area in Suliapada police station limits. The identity of the other deceased is yet to be ascertained.

More details are awaited as police have already launched an investigation in this connection.
