Sambalpur, Apr 14: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, along with other dignitaries, paid tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar on his 134th birth anniversary at Mudipada Chowk in Sambalpur.
The event saw the Union Minister garlanding Dr Ambedkar's statue and addressing a gathering to highlight the architect of India's Constitution and his contributions to social justice.
Union Minister Pradhan emphasised Dr Ambedkar's pivotal role in drafting the Constitution and his vision for an inclusive society. He remarked on the enduring relevance of Dr Ambedkar's ideals, stating that the Modi government is committed to upholding the rights of marginalised communities.
Pradhan assured that reservations would remain intact as long as the current government is in power, dismissing claims to the contrary as baseless.
The Union Education Minister also announced initiatives aimed at empowering Dalit families, including collateral-free loans and equitable access to resources. He reiterated the government's dedication to ensuring that every citizen, regardless of their background, benefits from development schemes.
The event was attended by prominent leaders, including Odisha Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra and former MLA Nauri Nayak. The gathering underscored the collective commitment to Dr Ambedkar's vision of equality and justice.
