Bhubaneswar, Jul 30: Pradeep Bal Samant, Minister of State for Cooperation, Handloom and Textiles, has urged genuine farmers to complete their registration to sell paddy and receive direct payments.
Speaking to the media, the minister emphasized that the registration process has been simplified to ensure ease of access for all eligible cultivators.
He assured that any discrepancies in land mapping caused by satellite errors will be rectified through proper verification. The government is actively monitoring duplicate registrations and taking steps to ensure that only genuine farmers benefit from the procurement system.
“Register, sell your paddy, and receive your payment directly,” the minister said, reinforcing the government’s commitment to transparency and farmer welfare.

Despite heavy rainfall over the past few weeks, which has caused transportation challenges, the minister confirmed that seeds and fertilizers have reached most districts on time. This timely distribution is expected to help farmers proceed with sowing activities without major delays.
