Bhubaneswar, Mar 31: Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra today said Odisha government has procured a record quantity of paddy from farmers during the current Kharif season.
"Record 73.8 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been procured in the State this kharif season against the last year's 58 lakh MT," Minister told the Argus News.
While 17.50 lakh farmers had registed names with governemnt to sell paddy, the kharif crop has been procured from 17 lakh farmers, the Minister said.

✨The Minister claimed that nearly 4 lakh farmers could not sell their paddy last year.
Notably, the Odisha Government had enhanced its paddy procurement target for the kharif crop season this year from 65 lakh MT to 77 lakh MT.
