Rayagada, Dec 12: After a few days' break, another incident of tiger menace was reported in Odisha; this time in Rayagada.
According to the information, a Royal Bengal Tiger (RBT) mauled and ate up a calf at Tembeguda under the Gudari forest area in the Rayagada district last night. The RBT reportedly dragged away a calf from the cowshed of Rajesh Rao and mauled it and feasted on its body at a distant place. Pug marks, bones, and blood stain findings corroborate the villagers' claim.
On being informed, local forest officials have photographed the pug marks, bones and blood marks and started an investigation.
Following the incident, villagers of Dhepaguda, Pendili and other villages are in a state of fear.

✨Meanwhile, Forest Ranger Dillip Patnaik said compensation would be paid to the family as per law after an investigation.
It may be noted that a Royal Bengal Tiger was seen moving in Gunpur, Gudari and Muniguda in the last few days.
