Puri, Jan 11: The ongoing repair work of the Ratna Bhandar in Shreemandir in Puri will be stopped from January 12 to 15, because of Makar Sankranti and other important rituals to be held during the period.

The repair work will resume on January 16. The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has sought cooperation from all concerned.

Notably, cracks on the walls and floor in both outer and inner Ratna Bhandar are being repaired as per the guidelines approved by the state government and the arrangements made by the Srimandir administration.

As Makar Sankranti is an important festival, a large number of visitors is expected to visit the temple on January 14. Other rituals are there to be done in the Shreemandir between January 12 and January 15. Keeping this in view, the SJTA has decided to stop the repair work for four days.
