Ration Card e-KYC: Odisha Govt Extends Deadline Till March 31, Informs Food Supplies Minister

Bhubaneswar, Feb 15: The Odisha Government has extended the deadline for the Ration Card e-KYC updation till March 31, the Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra informed Saturday.
The decision has been taken after ration card holders complained about facing network issues while updating the e-KYC.
The Food Supplies Minister said that as many as 341 Ration Distribution Centres are facing network issues, which is hampering the e-KYC updation process.
“As per the report which we have received, 230 centres are facing ‘no network’ issues, while 111 centres are having slow network connections,” stated Minister Patra. “Keeping the view of the situation, the Odisha Govt has decided to extend the deadline further,” he added.
Earlier, the deadline of the Ration Card e-KYC updation had been set for February 15. “The government has decided to install network booster device at centres, facing network issues, to help the beneficiaries complete their e-KYC updation,” Patra said further.
As per the report, 97,77,351 families are registered under Food Safety Scheme. The number of beneficiaries stands at 3,32,33,000. “As many as 2,99,08,457 beneficiaries have completed the e-KYC updation, which is approximately 90 per cent of the total number,” informed the Food Supplies Minister.
