Key Points

The ritual calendar began with Snana Purnima on June 12, when the deities were ceremonially bathed with 108 pots of holy water.

The nine-day festival will continue with- Hera Panchami on July 1, Bahuda Yatra (Return Journey) on July 4, Suna Besha (Golden Attire) and Niladri Bijay (Return to the Main Temple) on July 5.

Puri, June 26: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has officially released the comprehensive schedule of rituals for Lord Jagannath and his divine siblings, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra to be performed on Rath Yatra.

The announcement comes as devotees from across the globe converge on Puri to witness one of the most spiritually significant festivals in the Hindu calendar.

The ritual calendar began with Snana Purnima on June 12, when the deities were ceremonially bathed with 108 pots of holy water. This was followed by the Anasara period from June 13 to June 26, during which the deities were kept away from public view to recuperate from the sacred bath.

Today, June 26, marks the observance of Netrotsav and Nabajouban Darshan, where the deities reappear in their youthful form, symbolizing spiritual renewal.

Rath Yatra, will take place on June 27, when the deities will be taken in grand processions on their respective chariots to the Gundicha Temple.

The nine-day festival will continue with- Hera Panchami on July 1, Bahuda Yatra (Return Journey) on July 4, Suna Besha (Golden Attire) and Niladri Bijay (Return to the Main Temple) on July 5.
