Bhubaneswar, Mar 7: Alike the Kumbh Mela, the Puri district administration has decided to come up with AI-powered surveillance cameras during the Rath Yatra 2025.

The world-renowned Rath Yatra in Puri is all set to take place on June 27. Owing to this, the administration will adopt strategies alike the Kumbh Mela to control the crowd of over 50 lakh devotees.

According to reports, the AI cameras will be installed at each and every location of the town. Beside, a mobile application will be launched for the devotees which will provide information regarding traffic situation, parking areas, water points.

On the other hand, special arrangements have been made for various assignments.

It may be noted that a preliminary meeting, chaired by Puri District Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain, was held on March 3. In the meeting, many decisions were taken regarding the grand festival.

Rath Yatra, also known as the Chariot festival takes place on the second day of Ashadha month, or late June or early July, as per the Hindu calendar. 'Ashadha Shukla Paksha Dwitiya' is the name given to this day in ancient writings.

The world famous festival, attracts many devotees as well as foreigners from across the world.

Here are some key dates for this year’s Rath Yatra:

Akshaya Tritiya on April 30, Devasnan Purnima on June 11, Srigundicha on June 27, Sandhya Darshan on July 4, Bahuda on July 5, Sunabesha on July 6, Adharpana on July 7, and Niladri Bije on July 8.
