Puri, Apr 20: The first Coordination Committee meeting for this year’s world famous Ratha Yatra will be held today at Puri.

The meeting will be held under the chairmanship of the Central Revenue Commissioner at Puri Town Hall. The preparation of various departments for the world-famous Rath Yatra on July 7 will be reviewed in the meeting, said sources.

In particular, the preparation of the rath construction, wood supply, road repair, drinking water supply, electricity supply, law and order system, food supply, sanitation system, health department will all be reviewed. 

This year crowd management and systematic rituals will be a major challenge as Nabajaubana, Netrautsav and Rath Yatra are scheduled to fall on the same day. The management of this will also be discussed in details in the meeting.

The coordination meeting will be attended by district collector, SPs, temple administrative officers, servitors, intellectuals and media persons.
