Koraput, Sept 14: Much to the delight of reptile lovers, an Anaconda snake was rescued by villagers in the Koraput district's Borigumma block area on Saturday.
Anaconda is a rare species on the verge of extinction.
The snake, measuring 7 feet in length, was spotted moving on the Podapadara- Semiliguda road in Bisinghpur gram panchayat. The snake is believed to have come into the water of the nearby canal.
