Patnagarh, Aug 13: Following complaints from farmers about inflated fertilizer prices and coercive sales practices, the local administration conducted surprise raids on multiple fertilizer shops in Patnagarh.

The raids were carried out in the presence of magistrates and agriculture officials.

The action was initiated after farmers approached the Sub-Collector, alleging that dealers were withholding urea unless bundled with other products.

On directives, a team led by Agriculture Officer Rajeswari Bhoi and Tehsildar Rudra Mohan Nayak carried raids on multiple fertilizer shops.

During the inspection, several dealers were issued show-cause notices for missing paperwork and irregularities.
