Puri, Aug 13: In view of Rahurekha Lagi ritual, darshan of deities- Lord Jagannath and His siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra- will remain suspended for four hours today.

According to Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), devotees will not be allowed to have darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra on the Ratna Simhasan (jeweled throne) from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The four-hour closure is essential to facilitate the ritual without interruption and maintain the sanctity of the proceedings.

The Rahurekha Lagi is a traditional ritual observed periodically at the Jagannath Temple, involving the adornment of the deities with a special mark or ornament. It is considered an auspicious and confidential ceremony, performed by designated servitors within the sanctum sanctorum.

SJTA has urged devotees and pilgrims to cooperate with the temple authorities and plan their visit accordingly.

Normal darshan will resume after 6:30 PM once the ritual concludes, said the SJTA.
