The art, erected by Pattnaik, sends a message that diabetes is not a disease but a discipline (life).
Pattnaik has mounded sand to art to mark the observance of World Diabetes Day on November 14. Pattanaik took more than five hours to make the sand art. He used 7 tonnes of sand in making the art.
