Puri, Nov 21: The Puri Srimandir Management Committee will convene its second crucial meeting today at 11 a.m. in the temple administration office. Chaired by Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb, the session will see the participation of all committee members.

The agenda includes detailed discussions on the counting and verification of ornaments following their transfer from the temporary Ratna Bhandar to the permanent treasury.

Security measures for the temple are expected to be a major focus, alongside reports from cultural and technical sub‑committees. Progress on several projects will be assessed, including the development of Gundicha Temple, construction of the Srimandir Adarsha Gurukul, Raghunandan Library, and initiatives such as Homayajna, Namayajna, and the Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Centre.

A significant decision has already emerged from the Jagannath Philosophy, Research, Publication and Outreach Sub‑Committee. The Shripurushottama Mahatmya, part of the Skanda Purana authored by Maharshi Vedavyasa, comprising two volumes and 60 chapters with 3,863 verses, will now see 1,000 selected verses published in English, following earlier editions in Odia and Hindi.
