Puri, Jul 10: A fresh controversy has erupted over the sanctity and security of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri after photos allegedly taken from inside the temple premises went viral on social media.

The images, reportedly shared via Instagram Stories by a youth named Swetanshu Mahapatra, showed visuals from inside the temple near the Ghanta Dwara. Another photo appears to capture the three chariots from Anand Bazaar, believed to have been taken on Niladri Bije, the concluding day of the annual Rath Yatra.

Sources suggest the photos were taken at night, raising serious questions about how mobile phones or cameras were smuggled into the temple despite strict prohibitions.

This is not the first time such incidents have occurred. Similar breaches in the past have prompted calls for tighter surveillance and enforcement of temple rules.

As the images continue to circulate online, temple officials are expected to launch an investigation into the matter. Legal action may be considered if the individual responsible is found to have violated temple protocols.
