Puri, Aug 21: The Puri-Shalimar Sri Jagannath Express was halted for three hours due to a technical glitch on Wednesday night.
According to reports, the train, scheduled to depart from Platform 8 at 10:40 PM, remained halted at Puri Railway Station until 1:30 AM, causing inconvenience to hundreds of travellers.
The disruption was caused by a serious air bellow leakage in the S4 coach, which required urgent mechanical attention. Railway maintenance teams repaired the fault and the train resumed its journey safely.
Despite the successful restoration of normal operations post-repair, passengers endured nearly three hours of uncertainty and discomfort, especially those travelling with families and elderly companions.
Railway officials have assured that preventive checks will be intensified to avoid such incidents in the future.
The Jagannath Express, which connects Puri to Shalimar in Kolkata, is a vital link for pilgrims and daily commuters alike.
