Bhubaneswar, May 21: In a groundbreaking move for rural healthcare, Odisha has introduced its first-ever digital health ATM on Wednesday at the Nimapada Community Health Centre in Puri district.
The initiative, launched in collaboration with the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization, aims to provide instant health check-ups and prescriptions through an automated digital kiosk.
Transforming Healthcare in Rural Odisha
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida inaugurated the self-service health ATM, marking a new chapter in Odisha’s healthcare sector. The machine enables users to check vital health parameters, including: Heart health, Diabetes levels, Cholesterol monitoring, Blood pressure readings, and ECG tests.
Patients can simply place their finger on the machine, and within minutes, receive detailed health reports and prescriptions. The automated system is expected to revolutionize rural healthcare, making diagnostic services more accessible to the general public.
Government’s Vision for Healthcare Expansion
Speaking at the event, Deputy CM Parida emphasised that the installation of the health ATM is a milestone for Odisha’s healthcare system, ensuring quick and efficient medical check-ups for rural communities.
The government plans to expand this initiative to other districts, aiming to bridge the gap between urban and rural healthcare services.
