Puri, Aug 21: On the auspicious occasion of Bhadra month, Krishna Paksha Trayodashi, the sacred Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri will witness the divine Krishna-Balarama Besha of the deities.

This special adornment, held only once a year, transforms Lord Jagannath into Krishna and Lord Balabhadra into Balarama, captivate devotees with its spiritual grandeur.

In this unique Besha- Goddess Subhadra is seated in Padmasana posture, depicted with four arms holding various divine weapons while both Krishna and Balarama are shown with wooden legs, positioned in a graceful dancing stance (Chandipayar Mudra).

Their crowns are adorned with a seven-hooded golden serpent, symbolizing divine protection.

Each deity wears a decorated turban (Paga), and atop the crown, Kadamba flowers with leaves enhance their celestial beauty.

The deities are further embellished with intricate ornaments such as- Sripayar, Paunji, Banki, Pahuda, Godamudi, Mallikadha, Chandra, Chita, Nakachana, Hataphera, Khadu, and more, covering their entire divine form.

This Besha begins after the midday incense ritual (Dwipahara Dhoopa) and continues until the evening incense (Sandhya Dhoopa). It is believed that witnessing Mahaprabhu in this form bestows immense spiritual merit, equivalent to crores of punya (spiritual blessings).

Devotees from across the country have gathered to witness this rare and spiritually uplifting event, offering prayers and seeking divine grace.
