Puri, Apr 6: An unfortunate incident occurred near the Singhadwara of the Puri Jagannath temple, where a female journalist was allegedly assaulted by over 15 servitors of the temple.

According to reports, the journalist along with the cameraman, who were there to investigate complaints regarding servitors charging money from devotees, were reportedly assaulted, leaving them injured.

Following the incident, the victims were immediately admitted to Puri District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

Later, the victim lodged a complaint with police in this regard.

Anger over the incident, working journalists in Puri staged a protest in front of the SP's office, demanding justice and appropriate action against those responsible.

The SP informed the media that a case has been registered at the Singhadwara police station and assured thorough investigation, including CCTV footage review and recording of statements, to ensure lawful action.
