Puri, Jun 7: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has floated a tender for the renovation of Ratna Bhandar’s main entrance and protective grill, with plans to install a silver canopy over its structure.

The initiative is part of a broader temple restoration effort, ensuring enhanced security and aesthetic improvement.

The existing wooden doors will be replaced with doors made from high-quality Burmese teak, while the old iron grill will be substituted with new stainless steel grills.

The estimated cost for the door and grill replacement stands at ₹9.37 lakh, and the project is expected to be completed within two months.

Additionally, during Rath Yatra, repair and maintenance work for Ratna Bhandar will continue, ensuring the sanctum remains in pristine condition.

The temple's Patitapaban Mandir and various entrances have already been adorned with silver canopies, and this new development will extend the renovation to additional sections of the temple.

Temple servitors have urged authorities to conduct an immediate inventory check of Ratna Bhandar once the silver canopy installation is completed, to ensure its valuables remain secure.
