✨Underlining Govt’s Stance For Education In Odisha
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said that under the National Education Policy, emphasis has been laid on education and skill training for employment opportunities.
For all this, the Godabarish Mishra model school (Godabarish Mishra Adarsh Prathamika Vidyalaya) scheme will play a major role.
“Every panchayat in Odisha will have a Godabarish Mishra model school,” said CM Majhi. “Panchayats will be headquarter. The poor and meritorious students of other schools in the panchayat will get the opportunity to study,” he added.
The state government exudes confidence in the scheme, which may prove to be a game-changer for govt schools. “It will be a model school for the entire state,” said CM Majhi.
“Parents who have turned their back on government schools will again value these schools,” stated an optimistic Chief Minister.
He also said that the feeder school will become the foundation before moving to the smart school. “The educational standard will increase only if the foundation of the primary school gets stronger and better,” he assessed.
Taking Aim At BJD Govt
CM Majhi also took a subtle dig at the previous government, led by now-LoP (Leader of Opposition) Naveen Patnaik.
“The previous government neglected the foundation – the primary schools. (What I mean is) they went for the idea of laying a roof – building smart schools -- without building the foundation or making it stronger,” explained the Chief Minister.
“What will happen when you ask the children to write on smart board without educating them about addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. That was the scenario. But now, it will all change and we’ll start from making the foundation …a strong foundation,” stated CM Majhi.
