Puri, June 22: As the world-famous Rath Yatra is set to be held on June 27, the administration has made all preparations for a smooth festival and to welcome a record number of devotees.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, along with both Deputy Chief Ministers, conducted a detailed review meeting at the Puri municipal council hall today. The high-level coordination meeting addressed various aspects of event planning and security.
Speaking to the press, Chief Minister Majhi noted that favorable weather conditions are expected to bring in unprecedented footfall. To ensure smooth transportation, authorities have arranged for a record number of vehicles, and departments have been advised to treat this year’s Rath Yatra as a model of excellence.
Security remains a top priority, with elaborate measures in place post Operation Sindura. Rooftop surveillance using binoculars, deployment of NSG sniper teams, and the use of plainclothes police will ensure crowd safety. Special focus is being laid on preventing rumors and possible mishaps, with lifeguards stationed along the beach and aerial monitoring to bolster vigilance.

✨Health services will also be ramped up, including mobile hospitals, accident recovery vans, and streamlined corridors for emergency services.
Following the meeting, the Chief Minister inspected the progress of renovation work at the Gundicha Temple. He reviewed beautification projects and infrastructure upgrades alongside senior officials including the temple administrator, Chief Secretary, and DGP.
