Puri, Apr 18: The Chhatisa Nijog meeting, regarding the much-awaited Chandan Yatra and construction of the grand chariots for the globally celebrated Rath Yatra, will be held at around 5 PM at Niladri Bhakta Niwas here Friday.

The meeting will be held under the chairmanship of the chief administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Arabinda Padhee.

Key administrative officials, including District Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain, SP Vinit Agrawal, and other senior officers, will participate in the discussions alongside servitor committee members.

The sacred occasion of Akshaya Tritiya will be celebrated on April 30. On this day, the construction of chariots for the world-famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath will commence, along with the beginning of the 21-day Chandan Yatra. Ahead of this, a meeting of the will be held at Niladri Bhakta Niwas to finalise the schedule and rituals for the Chandan Yatra starting on Akshaya Tritiya.

The finalised schedule, which was approved by the Niti Sub-Committee, will be presented in the Chhatisa Nijog Committee meeting. Discussions were also held on how devotees can have a smooth and beautiful darshan experience.

According to the schedule, rituals such as Simhadwara Pheetas, Dwadasa Yatra, Nakshatra Bandapana, Bimana Vijaya, Rath Agyanmala Vijaya, and the timing of Bimana lifting will be finalised during the meeting.
