Puri: Deities Move In Pahandi, Seated On Adapmandap In Gundicha Temple

Puri, June 29: The Trinity of Shreemandir-- Lord Jagannath and His Siblings, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhara-- who are on an annual sojourn to their birthplace, Shree Gundicha Temple, since June 27, disembarked their Raths, moved in Goti Pahandi, and were seated on the Adapmandap this evening.
The movement of the deities from chariots to the sanctum sanctorum of Shree Gundicha Temple is called Adapmandap Bije.
As per tradition, first Sudarshan was taken to the Adapmandap, followed by Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Jagannath.
The deities will be worshipped in the Shree Gundicha Temple till Ashadha Shukla Dashami. In the middle, the grand rituals of Hera Panchami and Sandhya Darshan will be celebrated.

✨On Panchami, Goddess Laxmi will come from Shreemandir to meet Lord Jagannath to express Her anger that He came with His siblings and didn't bring Her. Lord Jagannath will assure Her that He will return to Shreemandir soon. However, Goddess Laxmi will not be happy and will dismantle part of Nandighosh Rath on Her return to Shreemandir.
On the Ashadha Dashami Day, the deities will return to the Shingadwar of the Shreemandir by their respective chariots. Then attractive Suna Besha, Adharpanad Niti, and Niladri Bije rituals will be organised.
Tomorrow, the 30th, Monday, on the occasion of Ashadga Sukla Chaturthi with Panchami tithi, the ritual of ‘Banakalagi’ for the deities will be observed. Therefore, after the second Bhog Mandap offering is completed, public darshan (viewing of the deities) will be temporarily suspended from 9 PM until late night around 2 AM. Considering the crowd, Dutta Mahapatra has requested devotees to plan their visit accordingly.
