Puri, June 8: Rising to action promptly, Chief Secretary PK Jena on Saturday directed the Puri district Collector to probe the incident of switching-off lights aournd the Shreemandir and take appropriate action against the errant soon. 

Besides, the Chief Secretary also advised the Collector to illumine the entire Shreemandir area soon. 

Lights were set up at the time of inauguration of the Shreemandir Parikrama Project in January this year. Since then, the shrine was dazzling in high-focus lights during the night hours. The temple was beautifully visible even at distant places due to the lights. 
According to the information, the lights have been  uninstalled after the election restults were out. 

"The light fittings have been unistalled by the contractor after the defeat of the BJD government," alleged locals. 

Notably, lights around the 12th Century shrine were not switched on and the sorroundings of Shreemandir remained in dark last night. The state administration took stock of the situation and directed the Puri Collector to probe the incident and take strengent action against the errant soon. The Chief Secretary also directred for immediate illumination of the entire Shreemandir area.
